Democratizing Cuba? Even a tourist can contribute
The island was seized by the Czech actor Tomáš Hanák disguised as Cuban dictator Fidel Castro. Or was it Fidel Castro disguised as Tomáš Hanák?
The "dictator" has unmasked himself and now there is no doubt - it is Tomáš Hanák.

Having spent two years in Cuba with his parents as a child, Hanák speaks Spanish and knows the Viva La Revolucion style of the charismatic dictator. Now, he can authentically reproduce one of Fidel´s favorite activities - giving a lengthy speech full of socialistic proclamations and revolutionary slogans. Zobrazit 13 fotografií

That is the message of the latest campaign of the Czech human-rights watchdog and humanitarian non-governmental organization People in Need (Človek v tísni). Its show starring Fidel Castro and his political prisoners in the cold waters of Vltava was aimed at promoting "responsible" tourism. Those who desire to visit Cuba as tourists can help to promote democracy there as well. Because of strict censorship and control, ordinary Cubans are denied access to things such as newspapers (in Spanish), magazines, books, CDs, DVDs, or radio receivers. However, as People in Need inform on their web-site www.hotel-kuba.cz, a tourist can transport any of these things to Cuba and hand them out to people.
